Beaconhouse or brokenhouse?

No. I have nothing to complain about the school but that's what Rowena thinks her school name is. I asked Rowena yesterday,

Me: Does Rowena want to go to school?
Rowena: Yes
Me: Whats the name of your school
Rowena: err errr
Harvynna: her school is broken house
Rowena: oh! boken ouse
Me: Whats the name of your school Rowie?
Rowena: Boken ouse.

Poor gal - she always gets sidelined by her sister.

When reading her favourite disney books on Snow white, I will point to Snow White and ask her

Me: Who is this?
Rowena: Awa (harvynna)
Me: Who is this? (pointing at the dwarf)
Rowena: Rowie. Rowie duwaf

I think Rowena is feeling a little left out since all the attention is on Harvynna going to school. We bought Harvynna a school bag yesterday, and Rowena kept asking me' Mummy, where Rowie bag? (while pulling the other bags in the shop?

This morning, when she woke up, she saw her sister dressed up carrying her bag. So she asked
'Mummy,where awa going?
Me: "Harvynna is going to school'
Rowena: Oh, going school
Me: Rowena wants to go to school?
Rowena: No, Rowie baby

Anyway, today was Harvynna's first day at kindy and she was really excited. I packed her a new pencil box with some colour pencils to take along. I prepped her in the car that this is just like Gymboree, where it is a big girls school and daddy and mummy cannot go. So when I left her, she just said 'Bye mummy - see you later' and the teachers were impressed andthat she did not shed a tear for the 1st day. I am a bit worried though as she had to learn Mandarin today and having joint the school late, she might find it all a bit daunting as she has no clue what Mandarin is all about. I guess children adapt faster than we think.

We will see how it goes - shall ask for her adventures later.

Oh! and now I know why you didn't reply my sms!

Say, kids learn very fast.. Brendan caught up and learn many mandarin words. He can easily recognise some of the words taught in school. Mummy is just a blur case..

So, how's "Boken house" for Harvynna?

Harvynna is so brave, didn't even shed a tear! And it's really good that she's going to be multi-lingual.
